Ms. Cassandra Moos Greetings! I am the K-12 Art and Annual Instructor here at Savage Public School. I enjoy working with students at their various stages of education. It is my goal and passion to provide each and every one of my students with creative skills that will last them a lifetime! Gifts for the Creative!Do you know someone who LOVES art but you never know what to add to their collection of art supplies?
Here is a list of items that are perfect gift ideas for any occasion! Expressionist oil pastels are one of the smoothest and blend-able types of oil pastels on the market. Your teenage student will LOVE using these verses the standard student grade brands. Don't forget to include an extender stick for a stocking-stuffer!
Prismacolor colored pencils are the top of the line colored pencils for inspiring artist. They leave a vibrant color on the paper and overlay with one another so nicely that your gift recipient can create more realistic drawings. Burnisher or blending pencils are another great addition that will help your artist create smoother areas of color.
A loom is a perfect gift idea for ALL ages! This is a great present for the artists who tend to shy away from the traditional drawing to create art. There are many loom options out there to fit any gift giving budget, but don't forget to purchase some yarn and string for your weaver!
Watercolor Pencils are fun for anyone! This is a very clean and easy way for your artist to practice drawing their images and building up layers of color BEFORE they turn it into a painting!
Crayola watercolor pencils are the best for any age and can be fairly easy to find. However, for those high school students who love watercolor painting but prefer to draw, I recommend a Derwent Inktense pencil. These are a professional grade pencil and the color quality is stunning! Remember to make sure your artist also has a paintbrush and watercolor paper for these materials. Another great hands on idea that doesn't involve drawing skills is crocheting or knitting kits! Students of all ages have really been loving working with textiles this year and there are plenty of great kits available to help them create art using yarns, threads, string and more! Just make sure you check the age appropriate listing on the kit to make sure it's not too hard for your intended recipient.

Welcome to the Creative Side of Life!
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

Clay is a hands-on medium that doesn't involved pencils or erasers, which sometimes intimidates young artists. Adding in higher grade clay and materials would be a huge benefit to all the growing artists here at Savage Public School. Thank You!Our community continues to be very supportive of this developing program. I have received mounds of egg cartons, project hanging clips, a new paper cutter, and stained glass window materials. The generosity of these donors is MUCH appreciated!
Thank you to those who donated money to the art department during the 2013-2014 school year! Your contribution allowed me to purchase a few materials that will make a HUGE impact on next year's projects!
